Now in its 60th year, the IAESTE programme has grown rapidly since it was founded at Imperial College in 1948. In the first year students from 9 different countries participated in the exchange, while in 2008 this figure had risen to 85 countries.
Over 23,000 British students have now benefited from gaining international work experience through the programme and IAESTE UK is keen to track the career paths of our former trainees. We publish an alumni newsletter at least twice a year featuring stories, news and information about upcoming events etc. We have no subscription fees and will just keep you registered on our database so that you can be kept up-to-date on the IAESTE programme's achievements, getting involved as much or as little as you wish. We would love to receive stories and photos from your time as an IAESTE trainee.
In order to send British students abroad we seek to raise an equal number of placements in British Industry for the incoming foreign students and hope that having benefited from the exchange themselves, our Alumni can provide us with contacts in their field and thus help promote the programme.
